The cascading waterfall of Mallyan Spout rises from the springs in the moorland in the picturesque village of Goathland, affectionately depicted in the TV series Heartbeat.

You will see steps and gates on the descent into the wooded valley to reach the waterfall.

Like all woodland trails, please take care as the paths may be muddy and slippery and particularly more challenging after heavy rain, so walking boots are a must.

This is a fantastic place for walkers and those with dogs, but take care if your dog is off the lead as the waters of West Beck can be fast flowing and livestock is nearby.

This fast-flowing water created this most dramatic ravine that is 70 feet high. The waterfall creates stunning rainbows and is the perfect area for scenic photography.
