Route YC

Here are our six iconic Filey YC moments we don't think you should miss:

  1. If you love golf but are a bit rusty and looking for a course to practice your swing, head out to Hunmanby Hall, which has a great 9 hole golf course. A great way to pass the hours, either trying for the first time or working up an appetite to try an 18 hole at Filey Golf Club, which boasts stunning coastal views.

  2. Switch up your accommodation and get glamping. More and more sites throughout Filey YC now include glamping with quirky bell tent and cabin experiences, so you can experience the luxurious camping style. A great place to call your Filey YC base has luxury, farm animals, a cafe and amongst great places to walk and cycle through the area.

  3. Filey YC boasts long stretches of dog-friendly sandy beaches scattered with WW Pill Boxes creating unique photography moments. A great place to access is from Hunmanby Gap, with plentiful parking at the top, a coffee shack on the way down and in the summer, it is a quieter place not frequented as often by visitors.

  4. Coastal towns are abundant with bright lights, amusements and fairground rides, and a must-stop place is the Scarborough Fair Collection. Home to some of the most unique and colourful vintage rides, motors and bikes, it is hard not to get lost in the nostalgia of it all. So combine the visit with a bite to eat in The Royal Oak, or for the farm to table experience, head to Redcliffe Farm Shop, where you can grab a bite or stock up the supplies if you are staying in self-catering accommodation in the area.

  5. All great back to nature experiences let you get up close with wildlife and if you are doing Filey YC during the summer, check in to Playdale Farm. Activities galore for the kids, and if you time it right, a chance to feed the lambs and see the farm babies up close, creating a special YC moment.

  6. If you have ever wanted to look effortlessly cool gliding across the sea, check in to Scarborough Surf School at Cayton Bay and book a Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) experience. It's a low impact exercise that makes you feel like you are the king/queen of the sea, but make sure you are braced for some fall off moments as it can take a while to get the balance and a feel for the rolling sea.

There are plenty of things to do in Filey YC -- what will you add to your itinerary?
