2 Mile Circular Walk

This circular walk explores the coast and harbour around the historic castle in the town. The England Coast Path can be followed around the site of the ruined castle, visiting the harbour and South Sands before heading through Clarence Gardens. At the castle, you'll find a viewing platform where you can enjoy wonderful views over the town and the beach below. The site is run by English Heritage which provides audio tours and exhibitions where you can learn all about the fascinating history of the castle.

The walk can easily be extended by heading west to visit the delightful Peasholm Park, where there's a pretty lake and Japanese Gardens. The GPX trace on this route is for use as a guide only; its accuracy may change depending on the scale of the map you are using. Use in combination with judgement and a paper map.
