What is 'Race the Waves'?
We’ve got a date for your diaries folks! Join us this May to hear the roar of the engines as vintage vehicles race along Bridlington South Beach. Race the Waves brings motorcycle and car enthusiasts down to Bridlington Beach where they take part in a sandy drag-race!
As well as soaking up Bridlington’s electric atmosphere and buzz during the event, see what the rest of the Yorkshire coast has to offer. From hiking and biking to nature spotting and total relaxation, Route YC is the roadtrip you need this summer!
Get together with likeminded people to watch the spectacle, admire the vehicles, grab a bite to eat and a drink in a local pub. Bridlington Food Festival are hosting an event on Sunday 12th – even more reasons to come along and join the fun! Enjoy locally brewed drinks, home-cooking, pies, sweet treats, cheesemongers, stone-baked pizzas and more!
Race the Waves’ history
The event started as a tribute to times gone by when Yorkshire’s beaches were used for land speed record attempts. From humble beginnings in 2018, the event has rocketed in popularity. In recent years, the event has attracted 140 participants and 80,000 spectators to the Yorkshire coast, and this year promises to be even bigger and better!
