The Little Angel in Whitby is a bustling local with a fabulous atmosphere.

Walkers Fish Restaurant near Scarborough serve a wide range of responsibly caught fish and seafood. Their beef dripping fried fish is a must-try!

The Downe Arms is situated right on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park so the perfect place to refuel after a long dog walk.

Guy’s Café, Bar & Restaurant serve lunch, dinner, and a superb Sunday carvery using the freshest ingredients.

Best places to stay with your canine companion

Enjoy a relaxed country and coastal escape to Raithwaite Sandsend. Explore the surrounding woodlands, home-grown restaurant and the beach right on your doorstep, all with your furry friend of course!

Must-do walks for dogs on Route YC

It was hard to narrow these down because there are so many options!

Forge Valley Woodlands is a popular spot for walkers, follow the 2-mile boardwalk through the trees taking in the flora and fauna as you go.

Danes Dyke Beach is great to visit at low tide for a dip or run on the beach. If the tide’s in, head up into Danes Dyke and follow the woodland trails for a spot of wildlife watching.

As well as walking round the lake with your furry friend, check out the ‘pup on a SUP’ paddleboard experience on offer at North Yorkshire Water Park.
